story:

Literal airhead Cielo and his bestie Owen are freshmen at their new high school and want to join a school club that doesn't interfere with Cielo's disability. But getting into the chosen kite club is already not that easy because the leader Ethan expects a lot from his "pilots" and "tinkerers". Kiting is teamwork but also suddenly a form of dangerous duel, inherits ancient kirits (kite-spirits) and everyone takes it ridiculously serious.

High Angle started off as a parody of "how to make a Shonen manga"

while following some simple rules of putting headgear on the fuzzy head of a

sunshine boy and giving him a weird obsession with a random thing -

in this case the sky. Add some dramatic tension, magical element monsters

and a bunch of crazy teens with daily problems and you got this.

And only Owen remains asking himself:

"But what the fuck?!"
